Glamour Reese Witherspoon was created by April in November 2001, and has been maintained to show our love for Reese Witherspoon. We first noticed Reese in Cruel Intentions, and started to follow her career more when Legally Blonde was released. Reese is a tour-de-force on screen – she is a natural at comedy, but is moving and authentic in dramatic roles too. She has such screen presence and charisma that we enjoy watching her regardless of the genre of film she is making. Off screen, we admire how she values and protects her personal life, and her Southern manners. She seems like a dignified and good-humoured woman who knows what she wants and values her principles. In recent years, we’ve watched as she’s used her status and power to develop roles for women in entertainment and business. We admire how she’s developing her career and championing women in business. Our favorite Reese projects include Wild, Walk The Line, Just Like Heaven, Big Little Lies, Election, and The Man In The Moon.
We often receive emails asking why we do not display paparazzi photos in the Glamour Reese Witherspoon gallery. The reason is very simple; we believe that those images invade Reese’s privacy, and Reese has been very vocal against them. Glamour Reese Witherspoon is all about respecting Reese as an actress and we do not wish to support gossip-y journalism or paparazzi photography, or anything else that might be harmful to Ms. Witherspoon and her family. We understand that people are curious and there is nothing wrong with that but let’s remember that we should draw lines between what’s Reese’s public life and what is her private life. Reese actively speaks out against the paparazzi’s actions because of the dangerous situations that they have forced upon her and her children. She clearly does not like the paparazzi, and as fans, we respect that. Because of this, stalkerazzi photos can not be found at Glamour Reese Witherspoon – the only exception being when Reese is photographed at work on film sets.
“I understand that public life is a choice, but hiding behind bushes at the pre-school and jumping out and frightening the children? These people are really predatory, and they have a lack of regard for children as human beings. Every day they’re at the nursery school, and they jump out and try to get a reaction on your child’s face. I feel it’s unfair to my kids. I ‘ll say, ‘Please don’t frighten the children,’ and they’ll say, ‘F*ck you. I don’t care about you. I don’t care about your children!'”
– Reese Witherspoon, Vanity Fair magazine (2004)
A lot of people have contributed to the running and development of the site over the years. We’d like to say the biggest thanks to April, who started this site way back in 2001 and did an incredible job and showed true dedication to Reese and this site. We feel that she really set the bar for fansites with Glamour Reese, so we thank her for that! Big thanks to Riikka, Lisa, and Mycah who ran the site in periods up until 2009 since April left; and Lisa for her short but sweet stint running the site in 2009-2010. Big thank you to our former forum members who provided a fun and lively place to talk about our favorite actress and share resources. Thanks to walktheline (video contributor), Stef, Mima, Mariana, Ivan, Frederik, Lindsey, ‘Dear Joaquin’ & ‘Mr Joaquin’. And thanks to you, the visitors, for supporting this fansite and making it a fun way to share our love for Reese!
